We enjoyed a wonderful evening of music this Saturday at Wymondham Abbey in support of the Sue Lambert Trust and Community Food Assistance Programmes. The Abbey is an absolutely gorgeous venue to play and the band went all out with a repertoire full of classics, jazz and musicals. We also took full advantage of the impressive church organ to perform a movement of the dramatic Saint-Sáens Organ Symphony to finish the concert. Image of the band in action is courtesy of our Bass Clarinetist Stephen!

We are getting ready to celebrate!2022 represents a significant milestone for Norwich City Concert Band (NCCB) as we celebrate 25 years of making music. Originally founded by four members of a local wind ensemble the band now comprises of over 50 members ranging from their early 20’s through to retirees. Since our first concert in 1997 we have been working hard to bring the joy of live music to the residents across Norwich, Norfolk and Beyond! We are immensely proud of the what we have achieved over the last 25 years which includes playing for Dutch royalty, recording 3 professional CDs, touring in the UK & Europe and being instrumental (forgive the pun!) to a circus routine during the Outthere Festival. We also have a proud history of supporting local charities with over £30,000 raised to date and rising! "It will take more than a pandemic to stop us making music!"
Throughout this exciting evening, we’ll be taking concertgoers on a musical journey through the band’s history performing some well-known pieces celebrating our 25 years of music making. | |||

It's essential that we do our bit to look after those who need it most...As a ‘community lead band’ we understand how important it is to actively engage in supporting our local community. Pre-pandemic band memebrs would vote each year to support a local charity. Having had 2 years away from the the band room we've decided this year to support the local charity EACH (East Anglian Children's Hospice's), helping to raise donations and supporting their cause in whatever way with can through the music we make. Our chosen charity EACH support families and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. We look forward to working with the EACH team now and throughout next year. |
We’re excited to announce the 25th anniversary of Norwich City Concert Band!Since our first concert in 1997, we have been working hard to bring the joy of live music to the residents of Norwich, Norfolk, the surrounding communities and our friends across the water in Europe! We’re so proud of what we have achieved in that time; Touring in Europe, undertaking a number of recording for CD's, Attending Festivals, Weddings, Fete, Fairs, Military Cermonies and much more...In addition to this, we have a long history of supporting local charities with over £30,000 raised and continue to do so to this day with our designated charity EACH for 2022. All the above wouldn’t be possible if it wasn't for the continued support and enthusiasm of our local audiences. So we hope you get an opportunitiy to join in with our 25th anninversary festivities throughout this coming year! There’s a lot to look forward too! We’re kicking off the celebrations with a number of local concerts and a rebrand (what this space!)... Keep an eye ? out on our social media pages and marketing material throughout the year. We need your support!Like many community groups the COVID 19 pandemic has meant we haven’t been able to perform during 2020. Norwich City Concert Band plays an active role in the local community nurturing talent and spreading musical joy across the county. The pandemic has severely reduced our income and we need your support so we can future-proof the band and provide our local community with bigger and better services. Every year we devote all of our concert proceeds towards fundraising for a chosen local charity/community group and over the last 20 yrs we have raised in excess of £22,000 for local charities. We have been approved by the Broadland District Council Community at Heart Lottery as a good cause for its newly launched community lottery scheme. You will have a 1 in 50 chance of winning a prize of up to £25,000 for a £1 weekly stake. You support will help us to finance outgoings such as insurance that is continuable payable and develop new project when we are able to meet again. 50p from every £1 ticket sold is paid directly to the Band.
